2011 Baltimore City homicide count up 20% compared to 2010

Homicides in Baltimore City are now running more than 20% higher than this time last year.

There have been 5 homicides sine [sic] 11:30 Saturday night.

The latest was Tevon Allen, a stabbing victim who walked into Maryland General Hospital Sunday afternoon after being stabbed at a restaurant in the 500 block of Pulaski Street.

Police say the 22 year old man ordered food, left with his order and was approached by two individuals, one of which stabbed him. He was taken to Maryland General Hospital by friends. Police have no suspects and no motive.

There have now been 64 homicides in the city this year compared to 52 this time last year.
