Orioles lose second straight
Posted by Jeff Quinton on April 24, 2007
The Orioles drop to 2 games out of first (for now - 1.5 or 2.5 depending on the Red Sox game later) after losing to Oakland 5-2 in a late afternoon game today. Jeremy Guthrie pitched 5 innings and picked up the loss. His record now is 1-1 and his ERA for the season is 3.00. The Os fall to 11-9 with the league-leading Red Sox coming to town for a 2-game series tomorrow and Thursday.
Probable pitchers for tomorrow are Daniel Cabrera and Curt Schilling while Adam Loewen and Josh Beckett should face each other Thursday. As we reported earlier this afternoon, Scott Williamson has been placed on the 15-day DL and Jim Johnson was brought up from Norfolk to fill the void.
