The state PSC is expected to rule today on whether the BGE 50% rate hike can take effect June 1 and whether consumers can defer half of the hike until next year.
A 12-year old’s rape allegation against an unknown cabbie turned out to be made up to cover the girl’s consensual sex with a 14-year old.
Two Morgan State students who staged a fake robbery attempt that resulted in a friend shooting them weren’t trying to avoid fraternity hazing after all. It has now been reported that the pair were trying to avoid deployment to Iraq with the Maryland National Guard. Guard officials say the two were not in “imminent danger” of being deployed.
Other news: 6 people died and 7 were injured in a rowhome fire. Two people were hurt when a driver crashed his SUV into an outdoor table and through a window at Starbucks on Reistertown Road in Owings Mills. The Orioles lost 6-4 to the Blue Jays at Camden Yards. Before the game, Os skipper Sam Perlozzo defended his job performance after recent criticism.
