McNair’s DUI charges could be dropped Tuesday

DUI charges in Tennessee against Ravens’ Quarterback Steve McNair could be dropped Tuesday according to the Baltimore Sun. As you may recall, McNair wasn’t actually driving his truck, but was charged with letting his brother-in-law drive it. The brother-in-law, Jamie Cartwright, had reportedly cut a deal for his DUI charges to be settled without a trial back in May and McNair’s charges would have been dismissed then also.
Prosecutors decided to review the deal and the case is scheduled to resume tomorrow in Nashville. The original incident took place in May also. McNair’s attorney says he fully expects the deal to be struck tomorrow with Cartwright and that the result would also cause the dismissal of McNair’s charges. McNair will be in court tomorrow. Assuming the deal goes through, Cartwright is expected to get two days in jail, six months probation, a cash fine and will have to take a required alcohol safety class.
