P.M. Baltimore
Welcome new readers who got here via The Jawa Report and via C4’s show page at WBAL.com. I’m guessing that at some point tonight on his show, which starts at 9 p.m. on 1090 AM or WBAL.com, that C4 will discuss this issue. I also have heard from the Mayor’s office on this matter as well as from various print reporters and I’m expecting the Stop Snitchin’ DVD in UMBC library story to continue to develop.
In other news tonight, the victim of a fatal Woodlawn stabbing last night has been identified as Satya Long. A suspect is in custody but has not been named. A man shot (see A.M. Baltimore in the previous post) by police this morning has been identified as someone wanted for assault who was also on probation for robbery.
Congressman Roscoe Bartlett now faces two opponents in next year’s Republican Primary. Tim Croft is the most recent candidate to file. Frank Nethken had previously announced his candidacy for the seat. Baltimore County Zoning has denied an Essex family’s appeal to keep three pygmy goats as pets on a plot less than the mandated three acres. The tagline for a new campaign to make Baltimore cleaner will be unveiled Wednesday. The tagline: “Don’t Make Excuses. Make a Difference.”
The Baltimore Blackbirds (indoor football) are no longer affiliated with the AIFA in a move that the league blamed on the team. Team officials report that they will be joining another league. The Orioles open a homestand tonight against the Mariners. Baltimore’s Steve Trachsel is pitching against Seattle’s Jeff Weaver. The game is underway with no score yet.
