BRAC will bring 200 jobs a week to Anne Arundel County

An Anne Arundel County official told County Council that the relocation of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to Fort Meade from Arlington, Virginia will run from December 2010 to September 2011 and will result in 4,300 jobs migrating to the area. Bob Leib told the AA County Council that many of these employees will live in the western part of the county. He also pointed out that 400-700 families are expected to move near MARC commuter train stations. Leib also detailed the numbers of new homes that are expected to be built in specific areas in the county as a result of the DISA move.
