“Wild” Bill Hagy dies
Posted by Jeff Quinton on August 20, 2007
Bill Hagy was found dead today in his Arbutus home. Hagy, 68, was a retired cabbie who rose to prominence in the 1970s at Memorial Stadium during Orioles’ home games. “Wild” Bill usually appeared at games in his signature cowboy hat and long beard and, from his perch in Section 34 of the upper deck, would lead the whole stadium in cheers including the spelling of Orioles.
The Orioles will remember Hagy with a moment of silence before tonight’s game with the Rangers. The team also issued a statement regarding his death.
The Sun has a photo gallery to go along with their article. Sun blogger Roch Kubatko asks fans to share their thoughts about Hagy.
UPDATE: More from The Hedgehog Report.

I would gladly trade box seat tickets to sit in section 34 with Wild Bill. I miss the days with him and Memorial Stadium. What wild times my friends and I would have in this section. What happened to him after the seventies and eighties?
