The University of Maryland in College Park made the list of the Top 20 Party Schools included in . UMCP came in #14 on the list of party schools. West Virginia University took the top spot. They were also #6 on the list of Best College Newspapers and #1 in intercollegiate sports (Students Pack the Stadiums.) Methinks the party category is linked to this if you look at the couch-burnings and rioting after sporting events and the overall bad reputation College Park has among visiting fans for home-team fan behavior.

The U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis was ranked #8 on the list of Top 20 Stone Cold Sober Schools and look for that ranking to be higher next year after the new rules put into place by the Academy’s new superintendent. Brigham Young University was #1. The Naval Academy also made the list of schools Most Nostalgic for Ronald Reagan. USNA was #6 on that list, which was topped by Thomas Aquinas College. The Academy also made the Top 20 list for schools with great town-gown relations.

Loyola College in Maryland made the top 20 list of schools with Lots of Hard Liquor. The Jesuit school in Baltimore was ranked #16 on that list while Washington & Lee topped that category. Loyola was also #2 on the list of best dorms (Dorms like Palaces) just behind Smith College.

Salisbury University made #12 on the list of the apparently most politically ignorant schools (Election? What Election?) which was topped by Sacred Heart.

St. Mary’s College made the list of Happiest Students at #11. Whitman College was #1.
