The new Baltimore County Police chief has rescinded a quota policy started by a police lieutenant in May. The policy set a quota on the number of tickets officers must issue unless they wanted to be “at the back of the line” for time off. A state employee in the Schaefer building downtown has contracted Legionnaires’ disease. A news report this morning indicates that two other workers are being tested.

Clerk of Court (and mayoral candidate) Frank Conaway has asked Delegate Jill Carter and Andrey Bundley to drop out of the mayoral primary in hopes that they don’t split the vote and give the race to interim Mayor Sheila Dixon.

3 people have now died this year in Baltimore City after being shocked with a Taser by Baltimore City Police. There were 3 shootings early this morning in Baltimore City that are now being investigated.

An inmate was killed while on road cleanup duty on the Capital Beltway. A pedestrian was also killed Wednesday night in the area around BWI.

The Orioles host the Twins all weekend (the Twins won the first game 5-2 Thursday night), with B.J. Surhoff being inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame Saturday. The Ravens travel down to Landover to take on the Washington Redskins in the 3rd preseason game.

That the media or anyone could cast a quality candidate like Del . Jill Carter in the same category as Frank Conaway or Andrey Bundley shows what’s wrog with Baltimore. Carter should havve been a frontrunner from the outset. But, it sems the media, Sun, has a vested interest in downplaying quality and promoting mediocrity and incompetence like council veterans Sheila Dixon and Keifer Mitchell. Conaway and Bundley are marginal candidates. But, Jill Carter is the insider/outsider, and the only one who has never com promised her integrity. I’ll be voting for Carter. I don’t think it matters what Bundley and Conaway do. Their votes will be very few like Kaufman.

    1. Dixon will probably win this election going away, as the public is more familiar with her service.

    2. Tasers and gunfire. Baltimore City’s circle of death.

    3. Not mentioned, BJ Surhoff also scored a run for the Texas Rangers the other night.
