Posted by Jeff Quinton on February 4, 2008A two-alarm fire that burned for more than two hours this morning damaged a corner bar at the eastern edge of Canton in Southeast Baltimore, according to fire officials.
Flames burst through the roof of the Knotty Pine at South Conkling Street and Fait Avenue, leaving one firefighter injured. The owners, who live on the second floor of the bar, were not home at the time.
Chief Kevin Cartwright, a Fire Department spokesman, said firefighters arrived about 4:45 a.m. and found heavy fire on the first and second floors. A second alarm was sounded, bringing dozens more firefighters, who brought the blaze under control around 6:30 a.m.

The owners were actually home and thanks to their bartender Rodney they were able to get out safely.
