MD Dems campaigning in Ohio

Maryland’s presidential primaries may be over, but the campaign continues for the state comptroller and several Democrats in the legislature who are headed for Ohio this weekend to champion Illinois Senator Barack Obama.

Comptroller Peter Franchot is headed to Columbus, and four lawmakers plan to campaign door-to-door in Youngstown.

One of the lawmakers headed to Ohio - Baltimore Democratic Delegate Curt Anderson - says 44 total Obama supporters from Maryland plan to spend the weekend in Ohio. The lawmakers were to leave Maryland Friday afternoon.

Governor Martin O’Malley is a Clinton backer who has campaigned out-of-state for Clinton before. But O’Malley aides say the governor won’t be headed to Ohio or Texas this weekend.
