Release: Hickey School Bill 995

Posted by Jeff Quinton on March 5, 2008

From an email by Del. Joseph Boteler

As many have asked about House Bill 995, entitled Charles H. Hickey, Jr. School - Cessation of Operations - Transfer of Property, I would like to clarify the intentions of this bill. House Bill 995 will close the Charles Hickey School and designate the land as open space to be incorporated into the Gunpowder State Park. A copy of the bill can be obtained from the Maryland General Assembly website at http://mlis.state.md.us/. An amendment will also be offered to clarify the schools’ closure. Again this bill will be heard in the Appropriations Committee on March 11th at 1:00. Please contact my office if you have any questions or are interested in testifying or submitting written testimony to the committee.

Sincerely:

Delegate Joe Boteler, III
