Schaefer released from hospital
Posted by Jeff Quinton on March 6, 2008Former Governor William Donald Schaefer, a curmudgeonly mainstay in Maryland politics for decades, was hospitalized Wednesday after injuring his nose in a fall, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Mary Lanham, a spokeswoman for the Baltimore Washington Medical Center, said Schaefer was brought to the Glen Burnie hospital late Wednesday afternoon after tripping on a curb.
Lanham tells WBAL News that Schaefer received “a couple” of stitches for his nose injury and was treated in the emergency room. She says the 86-year-old former Baltimore mayor was released from the ER around 8:15 pm and sent home.
