On average across the system, fees are expected to go up 4% to 5%.

University System of Maryland spokesman John Buettner says the system has seen 4% to 5% room and board increases on average over the last decade, keeping up with inflation.

Proposed increases in the annual dormitory charge range from 2.2% at the University of Maryland, College Park to 5% at Coppin State.

The percent increases for standard board plans range from 2% at Salisbury University to a high of 6.9% at University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Parking rate increases range from no increase at Bowie State and UMES to 14.3% at Coppin State.
