Home invasion/kidnap results in Amber Alert
Posted by Jeff Quinton on April 1, 2008Maryland State Police have issued an Amber Alert for two teenagers who were kidnapped after a home invasion in Catonsville early Tuesday morning.
Police told WBAL TV 11 News that they are searching for a black 2004 BMW with tinted windows and a temporary Maryland license tag No. 04350D.
According to Baltimore County police, six masked men entered a home on the 600 block of Plymouth Road around 3 a.m. Tuesday. Eight adults and two teens were inside the home at the time. The men bound and gagged them with duct tape, police said.
Police said that an altercation eventually broke out and that one shot was reportedly fired. They said the masked men left around 11 a.m. and took the two teens with them.
The teens have been identified as Sterling Blackwell, 15, and Stephon Blackwell, 16.
Police said they were late in issuing the alert because witnesses were uncooperative. Maryland State Police issued the Amber Alert around 6:15 p.m.
Anyone with information about the teens or the vehicle is asked to call police.
