WVIE switching to sports
WVIE had been pushing an all women talk format which I think they changed at some point.
Baltimore is getting a new all-sports radio station starting Monday. WVIE (1370 AM), which broadcasts at 50,000 watts during the day, will go on the air at 6 a.m. as a Fox Sports affiliate, general manager Bob Pettit said.
The station has hired Jerry Coleman, formerly of WBAL, as its sports director and talk-show host. WVIE, to be known as Fox 1370 Sports Radio, plans other local programming, but the majority of its shows will be from Fox.
The station, the former WLG, has been running syndicated news talk shows.

Update: Credit where it’s due. I didn’t check dcrtv.com until after I filed this, but the Web site — which breaks lots of Washington-Baltimore broadcasting news — also reported this today.
9/2 – Another DCRTV exclusive. Baltimore talker 1370 AM, WVIE, will go all-sports on Monday, 9/8, with a Fox Sports affiliation. Area sports radio veteran Jerry Coleman, previously with WTEM, 98 Rock, and WBAL radio, will be sports director and host a daily show from 3 PM to 6 PM. Syndicated Jim Rome will be carried. More line-up announcements to come. The WCBM sister talker recently upgraded its daytime signal to 50,000-watts. It’ll be Baltimore’s third sports talker, joining CBS’s ESPN 1300, WJFK-AM, and Nestor Aparacio’s WNST, 1570 AM. More soon…..
It appears Steve Czaban will also be in the lineup.
