The Maryland Aviation Administration will hold a public workshop today to discuss plans for improvements to Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. The workshop, at which officials will provide information to the public and solicit comments, will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the assembly room of the aviation administration’s offices, 991 Corporate Blvd. in Linthicum. The forum is part of a federal process leading to an environmental assessment of the impact of the proposed improvements. BWI spokesman Jonathan Dean said the primary focus of the workshop will be a planned expansion of the safety buffer areas around the airport’s runways. Other topics could include an expansion of the BWI fire station and maintenance vehicle storage area, as well as a possible extension of Concourse A.
