Anti-semitic graffiti in Pikesville
Baltimore County police were seeking yesterday whoever spray-painted anti-Semitic scrawlings onto the exterior signs of two Jewish institutions in Pikesville over the weekend. Police believe the writings were done by the same person or persons. Police said that between 10 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. yesterday, someone spray-painted the word Nazi and a swastika on signs outside Baltimore Hebrew Congregation in the 5500 block of Slade Ave. and Beth Tfiloh Community School in the 3300 block of Old Court Road. Black paint was used in both incidents, which occurred less than a mile apart. The incidents, which occurred days before the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur, are being investigated as hate crimes.
