Ehrlich won’t run for Governor again?
Former Governor Ehrlich may be leaning against another bid for office.
Responding to a caller to the Kendel and Bob Saturday talk show on WBAL, Ehrlich said two factors make it difficult for a Republican to win the office.
Ehrlich noted he lost his re-election bid against current Governor O’Malley despite a good approval rating, “so in Maryland as a Republican you’re really up against it.”
The former governor also said with the exception of western Maryland congressman Roscoe Bartlett, none of the elected officials in the state are close to his political thinking, “which tells me the people of Maryland have voted for this and they want this.”
Ehrlich served in Congress representing suburban Baltimore before being elected governor in 2002.
