Steele vs. Gingrich for RNC?

WBAL.com

Former Lt. Gov. Michael Steele is said to be locked in a battle with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich to take the reins of the Republican National Committee.

The Washington Times reported that the two are being promoted behind the scenes in an effort to remove the current chairman Mike Duncan.

Steele is currently head of GOPAC…a Republican political action committee that lobbies for lower taxes and other conservative issues.

Besides losing the presidency, the GOP’s representation in the legislative branch of federal government was reduced significantly last week in the general election.

Steele had served previously as the state Republican party chairman.
