Erickson laying off 260
The Baltimore Sun reports that Erickson Retirement Communities, which operates 20 retirement homes around the country is cutting 260 workers, about 2-percent of its work force.
A company spokesman says most of those laid off work at the company’s headquarters in Catonsville, and only a few workers at the retirement communities are being laid off.
The company is blaming the economy for the layoffs.
Calls from WBAL News to Erickson offices were not returned last night.
