A former Maryland state delegate has begun serving a 37-month sentence for possessing child pornography at a federal prison at New Jersey’s Fort Dix.

Republican Robert McKee of Washington County has been free since pleading guilty in September. He reported to the facility Monday afternoon.

McKee acknowledged in a plea agreement that sheriff’s deputies who searched his home nearly a year ago found pictures he had downloaded from Web sites showing known victims of child pornography.
