Corrections officer pleads guilty to smuggling
A 22-year-old correctional officer accused of trying to smuggle marijuana and tobacco into the Roxbury Correctional Institution near Hagerstown has pleaded guilty.
Krista Blank of Mount Savage pleaded guilty Thursday to possession of contraband with the intent to distribute it inside a place of confinement.
Washington County Circuit Judge W. Kennedy Boone III sentenced Blank to 18 months in prison, but suspended the sentence. He also put Blank on three years of unsupervised probation.
