MLK Parade road closings
Baltimore’s Martin Luther King Jr. parade is set to start at noon today. The event will necessitate a series of street closures and parking restrictions, according to city transportation officials. The parade will assemble at the state office complex at Eutaw and Preston streets, then will go south along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and end at Baltimore Street. From 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., traffic officials plan to close Eutaw Street from Dolphin Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and Preston Street from Madison Avenue to Eutaw. In addition, for the disbanding of the parade later in the afternoon, closures will include southbound Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from Baltimore Street to Washington Boulevard, Baltimore Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Poppleton Street, and Freemont Avenue from Baltimore Street to Fayette Street. Southbound Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, as well as the left northbound lane, will be closed from Eutaw Street to Washington Boulevard from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. From 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Franklin Street will be closed from Greene Street to Freemont Avenue, and access to westbound U.S. 40 will not be available. Southbound Martin Luther King Jr. traffic that is seeking to go to Interstate 95 will be directed south on Eutaw Street, west on Franklin Street, south on Greene Street, to Russell Street to I-95; drivers heading to I-395 will be directed west on Washington Boulevard. Westbound Franklin Street traffic will be directed north on Pennsylvania Avenue, west on Dolphin Street, south on Freemont Avenue and then back onto westbound Franklin.

martha,
Considering you’re not even checking the date to notice that you’re reading the 2009 parade closing list and it’s 2010… then again, how much did you pay for the info either way?
