Sun page width shrinking tomorrow
The Sun is shrinking, starting tomorrow. No, not the big yellow fireball in the sky. The Tribune-owned newspaper in Baltimore. According to a memo from Jay Judge, chief designer of the daily rag: “The Baltimore Sun will shrink its page width by 15 percent in an effort to reduce its usage of newsprint. Several newspapers, like the Indianapolis Star and the Louisville Courier-Journal, have already moved to this measure, referred to as the 44-inch web width. We currently are on a 48-inch web width and other Tribune papers are at a 46″
