Another arrest in ACORN break-in
A Southeast Baltimore woman who broke into her former home last week as part of a demonstration against foreclosures surrendered to police and was criminally charged in connection with the incident, police said yesterday. Donna Hanks was being held at Central Booking, a day after the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now activist who helped her by breaking a padlock on the door was charged with fourth-degree burglary. ACORN organizer Joe Cox said the charges against Hanks, who owed more than $260,000 when a bank foreclosed on the home, were “not unexpected” and that the group will assist her with the criminal case and post bond, if necessary.

Amazing how these ACORN criminals and deadbeats always see themselves as vicitims. They abuse the system, break the law and have no problem admitting it. ACORN is nothing but a bunch of criminals. They are a joke. It’s their entitlement attitude that is causing the collapse of the country.

Hey David Montgomery, WHEN are we going to read about her arrest in the Washington Post? Gee, you seemed to be SOOOOO sympathetic to her but didn’t come even close to the questioning the obvious that you wrote in your article – WHY was this woman paying $1600 a month on an $87,000 house? 20% interest? Wow! That really WOULD be ‘predatory wouldn’t it? But NOOOOOOOOOO! It isn’t 20% interest, the $87K house was refinanced for under 6% for about $160,000! Donna Hanks, a member of ACORN, shook down Wells Fargo to force them to refinance her for that amount and she SQUANDERED THE MONEY. I’d call that EXTORTION Mr. Montgomery; what would you call it?

I find it hilarious that republicans bring ‘entitlement’ up. How dare we feel entitled to basic needs in a country where we pay unconstitutional taxes.

LOUIS BEVERLY – Co-Chair ACORN Foreclosure Fighters
This is the guy that actually cut the lock on Donna Hanks house.
This guy is totally misrepresenting himself. He tells reporters that he’s a homeowner facing eviction next month. It appears the eviction he’s talking about is on one of his rental properties, not his home. According to a quote on 1/09/07 Mr. Beverly states that he owns 15 properties around town (I found six houses associated with him). Not quite a victim!Based on the civil cases he’s had over the years (failure to maintain property, dumping, building not fit for human) he appears to be a slum-lord.
The property he has currently in foreclosure has been going on since March 2007 and was sold 11/17/08 to a man named Maurice Bost.
It’s unfortunate that Mr. Bost chose to purchase a home owned by Mr. Beverly as on February 13, 2009 charges were filed against Louis Beverly for 2nd degree Assault and destruction of property by Mr. Bost. It seems that Louis Beverly is willing to go farther than just “civil unrest”, he’s willing to attack.
Which is a little frightening since Mr. Beverly was charged in 1992 with Battery, Assault, Possession of handgun and Possession of deadly weapon with intent to injure. He also had a Peace Order issued against him on 9/25/06.
The good news is Mr. Beverly was charged with 4th degree Burglary and Malicious Destruction of Property in connection with the break-in associated with Donna Hanks.
This is the guy that ACORN chooses to be their Co-Chair of the Baltimore ACORN Foreclosure Fighters? It seems he much better qualified to be a voter registration employee based on their employees during the election or do they choose people with these types of backgrounds to represent them since most law-abiding citizens wouldn’t break into homes?

She doesn’t mention that she’s employed at John’s Hopkins (I verified this morning that she’s still employed there – her work phone is 410.502.1065) with a monthly net income of $3,076.02 and her mortgage is only $457 a month according to her bankruptcy paperwork.
Note: this is not a subprime loan, her interest rate is 4% according to her – 6.25% according to the lender paperwork
In video – June of 2008 she sought assistance from an attorney.
Truth – She has had the same attorney (Marlene Johnson, Esq.) since the inception of her bankruptcy October 15, 2005.
On 1/05/07 the Trustee’s Recommendation shows that she was behind in her mortgage payments by $6,216.20; approximately a year of payments.
In video – On November 12, 2008; after returning home from a business trip she had a message from her attorney her told her that morning her property went up for foreclosure.
Truth – The 2nd foreclosure was filed on 8/22/08 and an affidavit was sent to Mr. Jones-Chew and her attorney the same day and posted on her front door on 9/09/08. At that time was again at least 3 months behinds in her payment (as of 5/03/08).
She says that her attorney was going to file an objection because her attorney thought the filing was done “mistakenly”. I guess the mistake was that she forgot to pay her mortgage.
An exception was filed on Mr. Jones-Chew’s behalf on November 26, 2008 and the mortgage holders attorney filed a response on 1/28/09. The case is still open.
She also stated in one interview that she was starting her own business and that’s why she ran into this trouble. Nope, she’s been employed at John’s Hopkins for years……….
She’s asking for the foreclosure to be reversed as the process was not done in a timely or professional manner. I can see her point – they’ve ONLY been trying to work with her since October 2005 – heartless………..

This stuff simply cannot stand in a free society. THis is simple thuggery, an in your face demand for special treatment which carries the implication of a threat of violence if their demands are not met. They are finding women to use as poster children so that their intimidating tactics are ameliorated on the surface, but the men behind the tactics are all too vivid and frightening. There is little distance between this activity and the next step, Mugabe thugs raping and murdering the occupants of the property Mugabe “gave” to them.
God help this country, and thank goodness the police are still doing their jobs in some towns.

Checking the court records for the ACORN thug showed a man who seemed to be spending a lot of time in court and sometimes as a plaintiff in civil matters. It may seem ironic that a slumlord is an ACORN activist. But ACORN darling Obama’s rather meager legal career was spent as a mouthpiece for Chicago slumlords. His ‘boneheaded’ deal with influence peddler/slimelord Tony Rezko may have hinted at the true nature of the New Messiah.
Big Louie seems to have perfected the art of gaming what passes for a justice system in Baltimore.

Not the ACORN con artists that have managed to brainwash enough fools in the cities that they ply there illegitimate trade in under the mask of rebellious self-righteous public aid. So who are the real victims then? Basically everyone that is left.. everyone that is apart from the criminals, the cheaters, the unscrupulous political activists, the greedy power hungry unions and their equally greedy partners in the finance industry. IOW, US… decent hard working Americans that just want a fair piece of the pie we have all been busting our asses working for every day. Based on its actions ACORN should be shut down. PBO’s (President Barack Obama) silence makes me think he’s ok with the way ACORN ‘does business’ and doesn’t leave much hope, does it?

This is another black-eye, for ACORN in Maryland. A few years ago the PG Office of ACORN made headlines in the local paper because of allegations of theft by one of the organizers.
Now, the Head Organizer of Maryland, Stuart Katzenberg, is supposed to make sure that all the i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed, has slipped up. All of this could have been avoided by simply calling the lender, or a records check. A little due diligence and proper delegation was needed.
But, Mr Katzenberg found his realm of responsibility had dramatically increased. He now had to strong-arm the DC Board who were proving to be a handful, asking questions and demanding answers.
Mr. Louis Beverly and Ms. Donna Hanks were/are a sideshow, a little street theatre and a not so subtle warning to the Obama Administration to get in line. If it were not for the fact that cameras were out and people have started to ask: why is it that all the little people in ACORN get thrown under the bus? ACORN would not help them anymore than they help the pole workers that they sacrifice every election cycle.
It is money from the Obama Administration that they are after. If ACORN happens to help anybody, it is a happily exploitable accident.
