Phelps at the Derby
Olympic champion Michael Phelps and his coach Bob Bowman, who raises and races horses here in Maryland, attended yesterday’s Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Lousiville. Phelps and Bowman were there supporting Pioneerofthenile, which placed. Bowman is friends with Bob Baffert, the trainer of that horse. Bowman also reported that Phelps doesn’t like mint juleps.
