Sarbanes announces $10.4M for Ft. Meade from stimulus funds
SARBANES ANNOUNCES $10.4 MILLION FOR FORT MEADE FROM STIMULUS FUNDS – 4/30/2009
TOWSON – Yesterday, the Department of Defense released a list of the latest projects to receive funding as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Fort Meade will receive much-needed funding to rehabilitate infrastructure and facilities, including the replacement of heating and air-conditioning systems, repair of aging roofs, upgrade roadway, as well as improve sidewalks, crosswalks, roadway markings. “Fort Meade is more than just a military facility, it is a home and a place of work for many of our men and women in the military and our dedicated civil services. It also provides educational and social services to the surrounding community. By providing resources to maintain the buildings and infrastructure at Fort Meade, we will ensure that the Fort continues to operate at the highest level and create jobs for our local economy.”
