Kratovil strong-armed by Van Hollen and Hoyer on cap and trade?
Thanks to a reader for emailing us this excerpt from The Hotline yesterday:
Rep. Frank Kratovil (D-MD 01), “one of the most vulnerable” Dems,
voted yes after being seen “shaking his head no” on the House floor
6/25. “He likely was leaned on” by Maj. Leader Steny Hoyer (MD-05) and
DCCC Chair Chris Van Hollen (D-MD 08) (Cusack, The Hill, 6/28).

This is why we desperately need to get out of the stranglehold of the two party system. You may campaign successfully on being ‘independent’ thinking, but the tactics used on you by the party leaders once you’re elected quickly have you behaving otherwise.
