Annual Best of Baltimore issue hits newsstands July 28 with the most winners ever!

(July 23, 2009) – All year long, Baltimore magazine’s editors have scoured the region looking for the very best Charm City has to offer, from shops and spas to everything in-between.  For weeks, they have been keeping the 2009 Best of Baltimore winners under lock and key, but the mystery is revealed in the annual Best of Baltimore issue hitting newsstands July 28, 2009.  This year’s issue, themed “WhoWonIt?” as homage to Baltimore’s great mystery writers Edgar Allen Poe and Laura Lippman, is also one of the greatest mysteries in town, boasting over 300 winners, the most in Baltimore magazine history.

From the “Best Guy’s Night Out” and the “Best Day Spa” to the “Best Car Wash” and best neighborhood bars of Baltimore’s north, east, south and west, Baltimore magazine’s August issue features an anthology of the best shopping, services, food, fun, arts, and media.  New this year, Baltimore magazine editors take some of the winners and build the perfect “Baltimore weekend,” “Charm City meal,” “one-stop-shop museum,” “beauty makeover,” newscast, and much more!

“Every year, we highlight the best of Charm City in every category, and keeping them a secret is half the battle, making the ‘WhoWonIt?’ mystery theme most appropriate,” said Max Weiss, Managing Editor of Baltimore magazine. “This year, we also have a ‘Save or Splurge’ feature that gives readers options so they can be sensitive to their budget needs in this economy.  Baltimore magazine’s Best of Baltimore issue has always been a household resource for Charm City residents, and this year’s issue is no different.”

The August issue of Baltimore magazine, featuring Baltimore’s Best of Baltimore was issued to subscribers July 21 and will be available on newsstands throughout the Baltimore area beginning July 28.

In celebration of the issue, Baltimore magazine will host its annual Best of Baltimore Party benefiting The Family Tree on August 20 from 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. at the Hippodrome Theatre.  Ticket prices start at $75 in advance ($90 at the door) and can be purchased online at baltimoremagazine.net/whowonit. Guests will enjoy gourmet tastings from 50 of our “Best Restaurants and Caterers”, endless cocktails, live music and dancing.
