MARC security checkpoints starting early?

Brunswick: Marc 881 (600p WAS Dp) departed WAS approx 10 mins late due Union Station security hold.
Penn: Marc 538 (605p WAS Dp) will be leaving Union Station approx 15 mins late due to Union Station security hold.
538 was already previously delayed to swap a cab car out after a deer strike. Is this security hold some sort of random security check or is it another instance of Vice President Joe Biden making the afternoon rush hour more hectic than it has to be for commuters?

Sounds like VP event to me – they will hold trains when he comes through.
