Chancellor recommends regents reject porn policy

WBAL.com

It looks like a state ordered policy on pornographic movies on university system campuses won’t happen.

Chancellor Brit Kirwan is recommending that the Board of Regents turn down a film policy at their meeting today.

The university system came under fire earlier this year after a screening of the x-rated Pirates II,Stagnetti’s Revenge was scheduled at the Hoff Theater.

State lawmakers threatened to withhold funding from any university in the state system that shows such movies.

Chancellor Kirwan is citing free speech considerations in his recommendation, the Diamondback.com is reporting.
