House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) spent about $1,561 in bottled water and House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) spent no money on water but a touch over $18,000 in food.

The fact that it costs $300,000,000 just to maintain the House is very, very disturbing.

Come on, they want the average joe to conserve and they can’t even do it themselves. Why not get water out of a water fountain. Use refillable bottles. And what about the environment? I’ve lost all respect for Hoyer. He has become all about himself and not the people he represents.
$18,000.00 for food. Who’s Clyburn feeding? Can’t be just himself. Sounds like one of the seven deadly sins to me. Gluttony. If you have to wine and dine, find more economical ways to do it like a less expensive restaurant. Govt Agencies have had to cut back, why not the people up on the Hill? They shouldn’t be exempt from anyone else.
