Candlelight Vigil to Remember Victims of Drunk Driving
Baltimore County, Md. (December 1, 2009) – On Thursday, December 3, at 7 p.m., County leaders will join members of the community in a candlelight vigil to remember those who died because of a drunk or drugged driver.
The ceremony will take place at the Towson University Potomac Lounge located on the second floor in the Student Union. Those scheduled to attend and speak at the vigil are Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger, Colonel Michael McCleese of the Baltimore County Police Department, Baltimore County Department of Health Officer Gregory Branch, M.D., and Debbie Hardy from Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
Families of victims are encouraged to bring photographs of their loved ones to be displayed during the candle lighting ceremony.
Music will be provided by the Unified Voices of Johns Hopkins Medical Institution.
Free Parking
Visitors are asked to use the Osler Drive entrance to the Union garage where free parking will be provided by the University.
The vigil is sponsored by the Baltimore County Police Department, Baltimore County Traffic Safety Coalition, the Baltimore County Department of Health, Bureau of Behavioral Health, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and Towson University.
