MAC hires new GM in Harbor East
MAC HIRES NEW GENERAL MANAGER FOR HARBOR EAST LOCATION
(Baltimore) – The Maryland Athletic Club & Wellness Center (MAC) has announced the hiring of Jay Shiner as General Manager of MAC at Harbor East, located on the circle at President Street.
Shiner joins MAC management with over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry. For the past 10 years with the Baltimore Orioles Baseball Organization, most recently as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the major league team and before then in the player development system of the minor league. Prior to his term with the Orioles, Shiner was the General Manager of the Capital Club in Rhode Island and of the Global Wellness & Employee Fitness Program for Bausch & Lomb. He also held a position as the Director of Sports Performance at University Sports Medicine in Rochester, New York where he oversaw an operation that provided athletic training and strength and conditioning services within the clinical setting throughout several school districts in upstate New York. In 1997, Shiner concluded a one-year contract in Nagoya, Japan where he provided educational seminars on health, fitness, and sports medicine throughout the country and Asia.
Shiner received Bachelors Degrees in Biology, with a concentration in Kinesiology, and Organizational Management. Shiner is a certified strength and conditioning specialist as well as a certified personal trainer through the NSCA.
