Governor O’Malley Appoints Two Judges to the Baltimore County Circuit Court

ANNAPOLIS, MD (December 2, 2009) –Governor O’Malley announced today the appointment of S. Ann Brobst and John J. Nagle III to the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. Ms. Brobst will fill a vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable John O. Hennegan. Mr. Nagle will fill a vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Lawrence R. Daniels.

“I am honored to appoint Ann Brobst and John Nagle to the Baltimore County Circuit Court,” said Governor O’Malley. “For the past thirty years, Ann Brobst has been an outstanding prosecutor, helping to protect her neighbors in Baltimore County. John Nagle is a pillar of the Baltimore County bar and will be an excellent addition to the bench.”

Ms. Brobst has been an Assistant State’s Attorney for Baltimore County since 1979. She has been chief of the Circuit Court Division of the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office since 1986. Ms. Brobst specializes in homicide prosecutions and has tried several high-profile cases.

Ms. Brobst is a member of the Baltimore County Child Fatality Review Board. For the past three years, she has taught a course on Business Law at Towson University. Ms. Brobst graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law.

Mr. Nagle is a litigation partner at the Towson law firm of Bodie, Nagle, Dolina, Smith & Hobbs, P.A. He specializes in mass torts litigation, but also has expertise in business and commercial law, family law, trusts and estates, administrative law, and bankruptcy law.

Mr. Nagle is a past president of the Baltimore County Bar Association, as well as a past president of the Baltimore County Bar Foundation. He is also a member of the Character Committee of the State Board of Law Examiners and a volunteer with the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service, Inc. Mr. Nagle graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law. After law school, he clerked for the Honorable William R. Buchanan, Sr. of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.
