Beat the Cold by Bringing the Whole Family to the Baltimore Boat Show

56th annual show offers the best in boating all under one roof

Baltimore, MD – (December 3, 2009) – The 56th annual Baltimore Boat Show comes to town January 21-24, 2010, offering local families not only a great way to spend the day, but a one-stop shop for boats and accessories with sales on everything from personal watercraft, inflatables and cruisers to the latest GPS systems and engines. Maryland’s longest-running indoor boating event returns to the Baltimore Convention Center for four days of boating fun. There’s no better way to fight off the chill of winter than by thinking warm thoughts about being on the water this summer.

“The Baltimore Boat Show is a great resource for both long-time boaters and those that are new to the boating lifestyle,” said show manager Tara Davis. “With hundreds of boats and accessories all under one roof, there’s no better place to compare, shop and save with something for everyone.”

In addition to the vast selection of boats and accessories, there’s interactive fun for the whole family, including the chance to win a $250 shopping spree at the show. Other special features include:

Affordability Pavilion – Boating is more budget-friendly than you may think! The Affordability Pavilion is returning for the 2nd year, showcasing boats for those with smaller budgets, highlighting pricing options and displaying boats that visitors can finance for $250 or less.

Root for the Home Team – Former Orioles outfielder Larry Sheets will be at the show with special guest, the Oriole Bird at 1pm on Saturday.

Electric Boat Display – Check out an innovative new electric boat brought to you by Florida-based Duffy Boats.

Antique & Classic Boat Display – Take a step back in time and explore the craftsmanship and beauty of yesterday in an exhibit of vintage boats displayed by members of the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society.

Daily Seminars – Get tips from top pros on all things fishing, boating and sailing. Daily sessions for adults and children courtesy of the Annapolis School of Seamanship offer an informative and entertaining way to improve your knowledge and expand your skills. Attendees will also be treated to a special appearance by former Congresswoman and local figure Helen Delich Bentley, who will autograph copies of The Port that Built a City and State, a 60th anniversary documentary video about Baltimore’s historic long running maritime TV series.

Kid-Friendly Activities – Your youngest boaters can join in on the fun at the mini-lake on self-steered paddleboats and check out fun activities from the National Aquarium. Don’t miss story time as author Steve Buckley reads his latest children’s book, Blackbear the Pirate. Hear about Blackbear’s adventures with Izzy Paws, Le-Kid, Bonnie, Calico and Barty.

NEW! Pre-Show Shopping – The Baltimore Boat Show’s newest online offering allows attendees to pre-shop the 2010 show for the greatest deals on the newest boats by visiting www.BaltimoreBoatShow.com. Attendees can plan ahead and search boats by brand, model and more, in addition to scheduling dealer appointments onsite or at the dealership.
