MECHANICSVILLE FELON SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS IN PRISON
FOR GUN POSSESSION

Greenbelt, Maryland – U.S. District Judge Deborah K. Chasanow sentenced Jonathan Price, age 43, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, today to 11 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm on two separate occasions

The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Richard A. McFeely of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and Chief Roberto L. Hylton of the Prince George’s County Police Department.

According to Price’s guilty plea, on June 4, 2009 in College Park, Maryland, Price possessed and sold three stolen firearms – a.357 caliber revolver, a .22 caliber revolver and a .38 caliber – to a convicted felon. On July 15, 2009 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Price possessed and sold a stolen .357 handgun. Price had previously been convicted of robbery with a dangerous weapon and burglary and was prohibited from possessing a gun.

United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended Assistant United States Attorney Deborah A. Johnston, who prosecuted the case.
