Ray Rice gets out of a ticket with an autograph? (UPDATED)

11/9 UPDATE: Ray Rice will address this matter today after practice.

Earlier tonight, Ray Rice made the following tweet: (HT: @wexler and @lbstewart)

Rice later tweeted that the police officer was a Redskins fan.

I’m sure some will complain about special treatment given Rice in this situation. I will refrain from passing judgement on the matter unless more facts come out since a couple of 140-character tweets don’t fully explain the situation. I will say this: it was extremely poor judgement for Rice to tweet this.

The window tint issue may be a minor one and we may never know for sure exactly how the traffic stop went (although right now based just on Rice’s tweets it doesn’t look good.)

It would seem like Rice should have learned a lesson from all the other stupid tweets that celebrities and other athletes have made in the past year or so.

UPDATE: Rice has apparently deleted the individual tweet along with other tweets referencing the situation, luckily you can just look up at the top of this post to see the screen capture I made of it earlier. Apparently in some browsers the tweet is showing up still in his Twitter timeline (for right now.)

Can't blame Ray Rice…If I thought I had some way of getting out of a ticket, you bet I would try it. No need to blow this out of proportion. Do you blame the officer?? Really….

Gee, I guess every stop results in a summons. Don't complain next time you aren't given that break so many whine about.

Cost him his job? get real.
