He’s lived in his Aberdeen development for two years, and Anthony Seda said that he has had enough of crime in his Aberdeen development,.
[...]
Aberdeen Police Sgt. Fred Bundick told WBAL News that as of last Monday, there have been 41 police calls to the development. He notes that the department has assigned a community policing officer to the neighborhood to address residents’ concerns.
Seda, who works in personnel recruitment at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, this that news of the crime is going to keep the thousands of workers moving into the area as a result of the BRAC expansion.
“We find it difficult on the base to recruit people from New Jersey. In this recession, we’re finding the Fort Monmouth workers are coming to the Aberdeen, and their moving to Delaware, along the Maryland Delaware line.”

The Army will break ground Thursday on an $8.8 million high-speed test track at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Harford County. The 4.5-mile course to be built at the post’s Automotive Technology Evaluation Facility will enable the military to test wheeled and tracked vehicles – some heavily armored and weighing as much as 119 tons – at sustained high speeds. Plans call for a 207-foot-wide oval track with safety runoff areas and grading to enable tracked, wheeled, and robotic vehicles to be tested for endurance, reliability, fuel consumption, acceleration, braking, steering and cooling. Construction will begin immediately on the first phase of the project through a contract the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently awarded to American Infrastructure of Worcester, Pa.

Aberdeen police are investigating a robbery at Ripken Stadium and kidnapping of an employee there in early yesterday, authorities said. Baltimore County police said they found Brian Baynes, 30, an employee at the stadium’s restaurant concession, about 2:30 a.m. in the area of Ebenezer Road and Pulaski Highway.
He had been cut and was suffering from a serious arm injury, police said. Baynes told police that he was finishing up duties after a ballgame when a man armed with a handgun entered the stadium office and demanded money.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the man forced Baynes to drive him in Baynes’ sport utility vehicle from the area, police said. Somewhere near the Baltimore County line, Baynes left his vehicle and ran into a wooded area.
After waiting for a while, Baynes returned to his vehicle and found no sign of the assailant, police said. He then drove to a convenience story nearby and called the police. Baynes was treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and released yesterday.
