I will be on-air on the C4 Show today right after the 12:30 news on WBAL (1090 AM.) I will be discussing the recent events on college campuses in the area – mainly the sex toy event on campus at the University of Maryland (stay tuned for a follow-up on that in a bit) as well as possible discussion of the University System of Maryland’s new porn policy and the resignation of the student newspaper editor at Towson University.
You can listen online at WBAL.com.

Now Is The Time To Donate Used Coats For Needy Kids, Adults
Towson, Md. (Ocotber 2, 2009) — This year, the Baltimore County and Baltimore City fire departments again will support WBAL Radio’s Coats for Kids campaign, which provides gently used coats to needy children and adults throughout the region.
Now is the time to donate coats. If you have used coats in good condition that you no longer want, please consider donating them to this worthy program. There has been a shortage of coats during the past few years, while the demand has grown.
To donate, take the coats to the nearest participating dry cleaner, where they will be cleaned free of charge; WBAL requires that all coats donated through Coats for Kids be professionally cleaned.
A list of participating cleaners is available at WBAL Radio’s web site, http://www.wbal.com/coatsforkids/default.asp.
The coats will be distributed in Baltimore County during Thanksgiving week at Woodlawn, Middle River and Dundalk stations. Dates and locations will be announced soon.

If you haven’t heard by now, Detour Dave Sandler posted a Facebook status update yesterday that he would be returning to work Monday afternoon doing the traffic on the radio. He also was interviewed this morning on 98 Rock. Sandler had been recovering from heart bypass surgery in August.

DCRTV
DCRTV hears that WBAL radio traffic reporter “Detour Dave” Sandler (right) collapsed Sunday afternoon on a Baltimore area ballfield. And he will be undergoing heart bypass surgery on Tuesday at the University Of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. From his hospital bed, Sandler told DCRTV that he blacked out while rounding third base to score the winning run for his amateur softball team, the Kings. It just so happened that cardiologist Scott Katzen is also a member of the team. Kaztzen came to Sander’s aid until the ambulance arrived
