Police Ask For Help Locating 24-Year Old Woman

Cherice Maria Ragins has been missing since Feruary 21. Baltimore County, Md. (March 3, 2010) – Baltimore County Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 24-year-old woman missing from where she was last seen on February 21 in the Catonsville area of Route 40 and Rolling Road, 21228 in Precinct 2/Woodlawn.

Police say that Cherice Maria Ragins, 24, of the 3600-block of North Rogers Avenue, 21215 went to the Catonsville area of Baltimore County to meet with someone. She has not been seen or heard from since.

She is described as a black female, 5’4” tall, 120 pounds, with brown eyes, and brown hair. Ragins also has her name “Cherice” tattooed on her neck. She was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, a red hooded sweatshirt over a black shirt, and green and pink shoes. She was also carrying a black purse with silver trim.

Public’s Help Needed in Identifying Found Body in Precinct 9/White Marsh

A New York Yankees baseball cap was found with the skeletal remains.Tan work-style boots were found with the skeletal remains.Baltimore County, Md. (February 1, 2010) – Baltimore County Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the skeletal remains of a man found behind the 10700-block of Philadelphia Road, 21162 in a wooded area on January 22 at approximately 1:09 p.m.

Detectives say that a construction worker who was in the area found the remains and contacted police immediately. Some clothing was found with the skeletal remains. An autopsy completed on the remains indicate that it is of a man who may have been 40-60 years old, 5’8” to 6’1” tall, and may only have had a few teeth at the time of his death.

The clothing that was recovered consisted of tan work-style boots, a green striped ‘Arrow’ button-down shirt, dark pants, and a New York Yankees baseball cap.

Public’s Help Needed in Identifying a Suspect in a Royal Farms Store Robbery

A suspect is being sought in a robbery of a Royal Farms store.Baltimore County, Md. (February 1, 2010) – Baltimore County Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an armed robbery of the Royal Farms store in the 4000-block of Wilkens Avenue, 21229, in Precinct 1/Wilkens.

Detectives say that on November 24, 2009 at approximately 1:50 a.m., the suspect entered the store. He walked up to the counter and asked for a pack of cigarettes. As he was making the purchase, the suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money out of the cash register. The suspect removed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash drawer, and then fled the store. A store video camera captured the suspect inside the store.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20-25 years old, 6’ tall, and approximately 155 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored coat covering a dark-colored shirt, and blue jeans.

Next Meeting for Scrap Metal Working Group

Baltimore County, Md. (January 25, 2010) – On February 5, 2010, the Baltimore County Scrap Metal Working Group will hold a public meeting to discuss implementation of the County’s new scrap metal law. The law will go into effect on April 15 and will provide law enforcement with greater access to information about local sales of scrap metal. This will assist police in tracking down criminals who steal and then sell scrap metal in Baltimore County.

The Working Group meeting will be held at 1 p.m. in the Chief’s Conference Room of the Public Safety Building, 700 East Joppa Road, Towson.

The Working Group is made up of representatives of the Police Department, the Department of Permits and Development Management, scrap metal dealers, and community representatives.

Police Seek Yet Another Cat Burglar

Investigators Believe Different Cat Burglar Than One That Struck in Essex Last Year

A cat burglar is being sought for striking in White Marsh and Parkville.Baltimore County, Md. (January 20, 2010) – Baltimore County Police are searching for a cat burglar who has struck in the White Marsh and Parkville areas several times since September 2009. Although there are close similarities in appearance, detectives do not believe it is the same burglar who was entering homes in the Essex area in the past few months based on investigative information they have obtained. The victims describe the suspect as a light-skinned black male, 18-25 years old, approximately 5’11” tall, with a medium to large build. One of the victims was able to provide a sketch of the suspect.

In all of the cases, the homeowner left a window or sliding glass door unlocked, and the burglar was able to enter. In most of the cases, he was able to make his way to the rooms where women or teenaged girls were sleeping. The victims woke to see him in their room, or after being touched by the suspect. When confronted by the victim, the man quickly left the home. He has taken no property, and there have been no violent confrontations.

The burglaries have been committed at the following locations:

  • Unit-block of Cedarburg Court, 21234 in Precinct 8/Parkville on November 26, 2009 at approximately 5:30 a.m.
  • 9100-block of Oswald Way, 21237 in Precinct 9/White Marsh on October 31, 2009 at approximately 4:48 a.m.
  • 8200-block of Featherhill Road, 21128 in Precinct 9/White Marsh on September 10, 2009 at approximately 5:45 a.m.
  • 7900-block of Belridge Road, 21236 in Precinct 8/Parkville on September 10, 2009 at approximately 5:05 a.m.
  • 7900-block of Belridge Road, 21236 in Precinct 8/Parkville on September 10, 2009 at approximately 5 a.m.
  • Unit-block of Fallon Court, 21236 in Precinct 9/White Marsh on September 10, 2009 at approximately 4:10 a.m.

Keep Doors and Windows Locked

All residents are reminded to lock their doors and windows, especially at night. Those who see someone lurking with no apparent purpose any time of day should call 911 immediately.
