Baltimore reservist dies in Afghanistan
An Army Reservist from Baltimore has died in a roadside bombing in Afghanistan.
The family of Specialist Christopher Coffland told WBAL-TV that Coffland was killed Friday in a roadside bombing in the Sayed Abud region. Two other Marines died in the attack.
The Pentagon has not released any information on Coffland’s death.
The family says Coffland joined the Army Reserves only last year, after working as a counselor coach, and studying anthropology. He joined the Reserves a month before turning 42, the age limit for new reservists.
Coffland was a 1984 graduate of the Gilman School
