Mr. Bernstein is currently representing individuals and companies in the health services and pharmaceutical industries that are under federal investigation in multiple jurisdictions. He is a former adjunct professor at the Catholic University School of Law and the current president of the Maryland Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.

Pineau joins Zuckerman Spaeder

A. PAUL PINEAU JOINS ZUCKERMAN SPAEDER LLP


Baltimore, MD
—Zuckerman Spaeder LLP announced today that A. Paul Pineau has joined the firm as an associate. In this position, Pineau will represent individual and institutional clients involved in criminal and civil litigation.

Prior to joining Zuckerman Spaeder, Pineau served as a law clerk for the Honorable Maryanne Trump Barry, of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Newark, New Jersey and the Honorable J. Frederick Motz, of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

Pineau received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Davidson College in 2004 and graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2007. While in law school, he served as executive director of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the student-run legal services organization, including coordinating the caseloads and assignments for more than 50 participating students, staff and attorneys. He also was senior editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy. Additionally, Pineau served as a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Justice, Tax Division, Criminal Enforcement Section.

Pineau is admitted to practice in Maryland, as well as in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

Gregg L. Bernstein, partner of the Baltimore office of Zuckerman Spaeder LLP, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in America.

A former assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Maryland, Mr. Bernstein has extensive civil and criminal trial experience in both federal and state courts. Most recently, Mr. Bernstein secured the dismissal of all charges against a former executive accused by the U.S. Department of Justice of attempting to manipulate and corner the propane market. Mr. Bernstein is currently representing several individuals and companies in the health services and pharmaceutical industries that are the subjects of investigations by various United States Attorney’s offices.

Founded in 1950, the American College of Trial Lawyers is composed of members of the trial bar from the United States and Canada who are recognized for their skill and abilities. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of 15 years trial experience before they can be considered for Fellowship.

Membership in the College cannot exceed 1 percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province. There are currently approximately 5,739 members in the United States and Canada, including active Fellows, Emeritus Fellows, Judicial Fellows (those who ascended to the bench after their induction) and Honorary Fellows.
