UPDATE: According to Bryan Sears of Patch on Facebook:

Ron Smith announced he has discontinued his chemotherapy and will undergo care that will ultimately result in home hospice care. “The idea of a a miracle with stage 4 cancer—well, there isn’t going to be any miracle.” Smith said he will continue on WBAL Radio as long as he is able.

Smith has also penned his farewell column for the Baltimore Sun.
