Retired police officer shoots restaurant robber
A retired city police officer went for his gun and ended up wounding a would be holdup man at a carryout place near Pimlico.
Police said the suspect tried to rob Judy’s Island Grill and Bake Shop on Park Heights Avenue last night.
The man was seen pointing a handgun when the retired officer shot him.
The officer’s name was not released. He had been a customer at the restaurant.
The suspect was taken away in an ambulance but his condition is unknown at this hour.
