Maryland Transportation Authority officials say road crews on Monday will begin work on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge that’s aimed at strengthening its guardrails.
The bridge’s eastbound span will be closed and traffic will share the bridge’s westbound side during the project.
Officials say they will reopen the eastbound span each day for the morning rush hour.
No lane closures are planned for the July 4 holiday weekend.
