Man Murdered Inside Convenience Store in Precinct 1/Wilkens is Identified
Baltimore County, Md. (November 18, 2009) - Baltimore County Police have identified the man who was shot and killed in a robbery inside the Yours Convenience Store in the 700-block of Frederick Road, 21228. He is identified as Brian Michael Meise, 52, of the 100-block of Ingleside Avenue, 21228. Meise was a customer inside the store at the time of the shooting.
The owner of the store, Sudhir Shah, 55, was also shot during the incident. He was transported to Shock Trauma where he is expected to survive.
Police were called by the store owner at approximately 6:58 p.m. yesterday to check on the location. When they arrived they found Shah at the front of the store who was able to give police limited initial information of the crime. The officer observed that Shah had been shot. They also found Meise dead at the scene. Shah was transported to Shock Trauma.
Detectives believe from their initial investigation that a suspect entered and began robbing the store with only Meise and Shah inside. During the robbery the suspect shot Meise and Shah in the upper body for no apparent reason. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and ran out of the store in an unknown direction. An extensive search did not locate the suspect, and investigators can only describe the suspect as a black male in dark clothing.
Anyone with information about this crime or the identity of the suspects is asked to call Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP. To text a message to Metro Crime Stoppers, send to “CRIMES” – that’s 274637, then enter the message beginning with “MCS.” Those contacting Metro Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and might be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.

Sounds like a hate crime to me. Also, one reason for this particular outcome is that the perp may have been known the victims.
