Hoyer statement

“I am deeply concerned to learn that the State Capitol Complex in Annapolis and Maryland Department of Transportation headquarters in Hanover were the targets of attacks. My thoughts and prayers are with those who sustained injuries, and I wish them a speedy recovery.

“I also want to thank the local, state, and federal law enforcement officials and first responders whose quick action helped ensure the safety of our citizens. Today is another reminder of our dependence on their diligence and hard work, and these events underscore the need for all of us to remain vigilant in the face of threats against our community. These are acts of cowardice, and I hope that those who planned them are quickly brought to justice.”
