Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon will make an announcement today at 3pm. She will not be taking any questions.

UPDATE: Julie Bykowicz of the Sun tells us via Twitter that it will just be a statement.

Breaking News: Suspect in murder found dead

Victor Cruz, who was charged with killing his girlfriend and dumping her body in a manhole, was found unresponsive in his cell at Central Booking tonight, according to WBAL TV. Cruz later was declared dead at a local hospital.

Breaking News: Explosions at Bethlehem Steel

Baltimore County Fire crews are on the scene of a fire with report of explosions at the Bethlehem Steel plant.

The original call came for a building fire at Bethlehem Steel Boulevard and Wharf Road shortly after 2 p.m. When crews arrived they discovered the source to be inside the L Furnace. There was a build up of pressure that forced flames and debri [sic] to shoot through the vents. The flames shot severeal [sic] feet into the air but luckily no one was hurt, says Elisa Armacost, spokesperson for the Baltimore County Fire Department.

The steelworkers have been allowed to return to work. Fire crews remain on scene to make sure there were no spot fires caused by the burning debri [sic].

11.5K houses without power tonight in Towson area

We started hearing about power outages over the past little bit on Twitter and most of the people seemed to be in the Towson area. The BG&E website reports 11,498 outages in Baltimore County and 1,527 outages in Baltimore City.

If you have an outage, call 1-877-778-2222 to report it.

UPDATE
Some of the Twitter chatter now indicates that the major area of the outage is in the area around Joppa Road and Loch Raven Boulevard.

Breaking: Huge water main break causes flooding in Dundalk

We have breaking news out of Dundalk in Baltimore County. ABC2NEWS.COM has confirmed a massive watermain break.

It’s happening near the intersection of Dundalk and Dunhaven Roads. The Department of Public Works tells ABC2NEWS.COM that this is a massive break. Authorities say this is a 72-inch main that has ruptured.

Emergency officials have set up a staging area near the on-ramp at the Key Bridge. Several entire neighborhoods are flooded to varying degrees. The Logan Village Shopping Center has been flooded. Authorities have requested boats to assist with search and rescue operations.

At the specific location of the break, the road is collapsing.

Police have closed all exits from 695 to Dundalk.

According to BGE.com, there are at least 1,000 power outages already in Baltimore County, most of which appear to be in the vicinity of the water main break.
